Furniture Workshops

Learn upcycling, wood care and basic upholstery.

Every Friday between 10 am and 1 pm, we hold upcycling furniture workshops for beginners - a great place to meet new people and learn new skills! These sessions are a great opportunity for the local community to come together and give back to those in need.

No skills are required to attend these local workshops, just a willingness to learn, so if you want to know how to upholster furniture, upcycle items or learn basic woodwork skills, this is a great place to start. These sessions are all about building a community and supporting our charitable objectives. Whilst you won’t come away from these workshops with a certification, you will leave with a sense of achievement and feeling great knowing you’re helping others in need.

Work on your own project, or upcycle donated furniture

Each week, we welcome participants to bring along their own projects to work on, whether that involves reupholstering a chair or repurposing a wooden unit. Alternatively, you’re very welcome to work on one of our pieces of donated furniture, helping to give it a new lease of life for its next owner. We often receive furniture that is fit for use, but perhaps needs a bit of attention to make it stand out in our charity shop.

Why Upcycle Furniture?

Upcycling is a great way to give a new purpose to old or unwanted furniture. Not only does this provide a new use for otherwise unwanted items, but it also helps to reduce waste. It’s a shame for good-quality, usable furniture to end up in landfill, so why not give upcycling a go?
